8 Month Update

Baby Jaiden is still hanging out in her warm, cozy home in my belly. At the last Dr. appt she weighed in at approx 5 1/2 - 6 lbs. With a month still to go, she is probably going to be a big baby. The Dr. is trying to talk me into having a C-Section since it may be hard to push her out. Chris & I have discussed it and whatever is safest for her and I is what we will do.

She is moving around all the time. She's an active one. I love knowing that she is living inside me and growing. God is amazing! I don't know why we waited so long to do this. I guess it was His timing!

I am now on a little more strict bed rest. I am still having contractions and this could mean pre-term labor. We want to keep in there as long as possible for full development of her lungs and other organs. Bed rest will help keep my contractions down. My Mom has been coming over to clean my house and Chris is taking good care of me and not letting me do much. It's tough because I want to do everything, but as soon as I walk around too much, the contractions come back.

I'm looking forward to our baby shower next Saturday being able to see so many friends and family in one place. I'm going to this shower!!! Even if I have to plant myself in a comfortable chair and just sit there. I really want to see everyone. I'll keep you all updated as much as possible.

Love you,

Toni & Chris

Officially on Bed Rest...

Hello Friends and Family,

Over the weekend I started having contractions that were lasting quite a while. Whenever I would sit down and rest, they would go away. I continued to have them thru this Tuesday and decided to call my Dr. He had me go into Labor & Delivery so that I could be monitored. They results showed that I was having mild contractions and also have an irritable uterus. Jaiden was doing just fine. They took blood, gave me a pelvic exam and and I had to give a urine sample. I do have an elevated level of amniotic fluid which could lead to pre-term labor. So, he requested that I stop working and rest for the remainder of my pregnancy. My first thought was oh no, I haven't trained everyone properly. I asked the Dr. if I could work from home if my boss allowed it, he was OK with this and so was my boss (awesome boss!). So, here I am working from home with my feet up and relaxed. I feel Jaiden kicking away! I think she is happier this way too! I am at 31 weeks and the Dr. hopes to have me make it to 37 weeks in which Jaiden will be fully developed. The girls at work are being so supportive and will even be coming to my house so that I can train them from here. What a blessing to have supportive people in your life!

On another note, we had our Cunningham Family shower this past Saturday. It was a blast. Farrah, my sister in law (Chris' brother Jamal's wife) put on a rockin' party with lots of great food, cake, appetizers, games, adorable decorations and a house full of family. It was a really great party. They all gave us such nice gifts for Jaiden as well. I can already see how spoiled she will be.

Last week we were able to see our baby girl on a 4D Ultrasound which was truly amazing. I can't really tell who she looks like yet, but I do think that she has big feet like her Mommy and Daddy! I have posted some pics of this Ultrasound.

So, now that it is getting closer and I will be home a bit more, I will try to keep you all posted more often. Thanks for all of your love and well wishes. Please keep us in your prayers as we get closer to bringing Jaiden into all of our lives.

Love,

Toni & Chris

6 Month Update

Hi Everyone,

Sorry I haven't posted since last month. I am now 26 weeks along which is about 6 1/2 months. Everything is going great. Jaiden is moving around like crazy in there. Everytime I get home from work and sit with Chris, she hears his voice and goes crazy. I can tell she is excited to meet her Daddy. She is about 1 1/2 pounds and about 14 inches long. The Prenatal Dr. did an extensive Ultrasound on her anatomy and everything looks great! I'm still able to do my normal things. I am getting a little bit more tired, but I think that is very normal. We will be painting and setting up the nursery this weekend. My Mom is going to help us paint the the room a light shade of pink. We have an adorable white crib from our friends Angela & Ron that will look really cute in the room. I will post some pics as soon as we are done. The Cunningham baby shower is set for June 20th which will be all of Chris' family. The Reposa side is giving us a shower too which will be on July 25th. My next appt is set for June 11th. I will send another update at that time. Grandpop and Grand Ma Schaefer will be coming out to visit on June 13th and we are excited to spend some time with them. Talk to you all soon!!

Lots of Love,

Toni & Chris

We're Having A....

Baby Girl....

As of Tuesday April 7th we are 5 Months pregnant. We are due on August 25th, 2009. We are so excited to meet out little girl. We've decided to name her Jaiden Skye. We just like the name Jaiden and Skye is after Chris' High School Basketball nickname (because of how high he could jump).

We are getting ready to get the nursery together, put up the crib and paint. I had lots of morning sickness the first 3 months, but feel great now. All of the Grandparents are super excited. It's my Moms first and Chris' Mom's 9th (Goodness!). This family defiantly has GIRL POWER!

Thank God for our little blessing. We will keep you all updated as much as possible.

Love,

Toni & Chris
